love, Love, LOVE this jumper!! it may never want to come off..i feel so lucky that i got to be one of the testers. designer’s project here, testing thread here. made with a few inches of positive ease, because i like my clothing a bit roomy..

• ribbing (safran): used 2 tails and worked JMCO tubular cast on, then 10 rounds from the join. worked cast on with 4mm, and rib with 3.5mm
• section 1 (safran and mistelzweig): worked with 4mm needles. row gauge is off, but stitch gauge is spot on – this will be a bit longer than written (which is ok, as i’ve got a long torso)
• ribbing plus section 1 used 27 grams of safran, and 9.6 grams of mistelzweig
• section 2 (mistelzweig): twisted german cast on with 4mm needles. used 28.2 grams altogether
• section 3 (ahoi and mont blanc): up to row 1 of placket (after binding off and breaking yarn) used 74 grams of ahoi and 68.1 grams of mont blanc
• switch to just ahoi at the placket (sleeve stripes also stop at the same level)
• provisional cast on for sleeves – will do longer cuff with thumbholes after completing the body
• (both) sleeves used: 9.5 grams safran (before cuff), 39.3 grams mistelzweig, 13.5 grams mont blanc, 21.6 grams ahoi
• yoke used 75.5 grams of ahoi (up to button band)
• button band / neck used: 6.6 grams ahoi, 10.9 grams mistelzweig, 12.8 grams safran
• cuffs used 15.6 grams safran

Mods to sleeve: i decided after the fact that it would look better with a purl ridge at the bicep, where it transitions from stripey to solid. Was debating between adding an actual new layer (which would have been cast on separately and attached by picking up the stitches in the sleeve and working a 3-needle bind off) or cutting it open, reknitting in purls, and grafting shut. Kitchener won – i didn’t want the added bulk of another layer, and i lovelovelove grafting. SO i picked up one set of stitches at the transition, and another set 5 rounds above that. Then i snipped and unravelled the yarn in between those needles and used it to work a purl ridge, and grafted it all back together. It is by no means perfect, but i am a lot happier with the way it looks – the ridge was necessary!

For the cuffs: i picked up the held stitches from the provisional cast on and worked 7 rounds of ribbing, then added one stitch (to make an odd number, so the thumbhole would start and end with a K) and worked 12 rows. Then i rejoined in the round and did 11 more rounds of rib before binding off. (used JSSBO but only on the purls)
